Hello lovely dancing humans
We’re so excited!

We’ll be dancing on the streets again this year as part of Hockley Hustle 2025!
This year it’s taking place on Sunday 19 October and we’ll be on Heathcoat Street from 2.30pm to 3.00pm.
Please come and join us!
This does mean that there we won’t be running our regular classes at St Christopher’s this Sunday but we’re back with Solo Jazz on Monday 20th October and Sunday Jam (our social practice session) on Sunday 26 October. Our next block of Lindy Hop classes will begin on Sunday 2 November.

You don’t need a ticket to attend the streets part of the festival (ie to come and join us, or see any of the other street performers or eat at the food vans) but you will need a wristband to get into the bars for all the live music. It really is an incredible event with so much going on and all proceeds go to charity groups; you don’t want to miss out.

Dancers who have registered your names with me, Rowena, or Aria – please meet us somewhere near or just down from Jam Cafe around 2pm/2.15pm – we’ll issue you with your performers wristband after we’ve finished. For everyone else, please join us when you can between 2:30 & 3pm.
We’ve had the pleasure of dancing at Hockley Hustle for a number of years and we just can’t wait to do it again.
As usual we’ll be social dancing to some lovely mid-tempo swing songs, maybe having a jazz circle, and hopefully a shim sham before we finish.
☔️
Now, it’s looking like we won’t have the dry weather of previous years as all forecasts point to rain. It is however supposed to be more drizzle/light rain in the city centre so 🤞 for that, as it should still be a lot of fun.
We’ve been promised gazebos but let’s assume we may get a bit wet.
Bring a brolly and a rain coat and maybe a spare pair of socks and shoes that you can change into for the rest of the festival so you don’t have soggy feet for the rest of the day.
I’ve also bought a bunch of festival type pac-a-macs for those that don’t have rain coats.
So with all that we should be able to splash around together quite happily as long as it doesn’t pour too hard 😁. Again 🤞🤞🤞 😁

Remember everyone is very welcome to join in wherever you usually dance, in Nottingham or beyond, whether you registered or not, or even if you’ve never tried it before, and we love spectators cheering us on too.
So, see you all tomorrow!
Love Lisa x
