Hello everyone!

As we discussed at classes last week there will be no classes on either Sunday (Lindy Hop) or Monday (Solo Vernacular Jazz) this weekend (8 & 9 October).

However, don’t worry you can still get your dancing fix this Sunday 8 October by heading on down to the ‘Hockley Hustle‘ in Nottingham. This is a fab little music festival where all the bars in Hockley have live music of every kind you can think of playing all day.

For Lindy hoppers there will be Jazz and Swing bands playing in Das Kino from 2pm till late (https://www.facebook.com/events/141939336399250??ti=ia) plus two opportunities to join in with some Social dance demos along with Rose and George and lots of other Nottingham dancers. HOCKLEY HUSTLE INFORMATION

Here are a reminder of our slots and location.

FRINGE STAGE – opposite Hartleys Cafe,

Dancing 2.30 – 3.00

PELHAM STREET

Dancing 4.30 – 5.15

The organisers plan to keep to the schedule as close as possible, but please be prepared for changes.

Everyone is welcome to come and join in for some free dancing at these times! And bring relevant leaflets to promote swing in Nottingham.

If you have bagsied a wristband I will have collected them and you can get them from me. I will email my phone number for people to get in touch.

BELONGINGS

We are able to keep personal belongings locked in a room at the National Video Game Arcade, so at 2.15 and 4.15 we will be heading there to pick up the speaker and drop off bags.

Das Kinos will be hosting the jazz music for the day. So in between performances you will most likely find a dancer or two in there. If you haven’t got a free wristband you will have to purchase a festival wristband to get inside the venues (you can do this in advanced or on the day).

I hope you have a lovely time. It’s always been fab each year I’ve been able to go in the past and I know Rose and George would love to see as many friendly Lindy Hopping faces as possible for the Social dance demos whether just to cheer everyone on or get involved.

Classes will be back on Sunday 15 and Monday 16 October.
