At St Christopher’s Church Hall, Trent Road, Sneinton every Sunday in January from 5pm to 6.30pm our fun, kind, experienced (20+ years) teacher Lisa will introduce you to the basics of this wonderful, rhythmic, connected, improvisational social dance with its rich history, and culture.

We usually run three classes per month but to get you off with a bang we’re running for all four Sundays in January.

🗓️ Sundays 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th January.

⏰ Check in is at 5pm. Class starts 5.10/5.15pm and runs for around an hour followed by additional practice time through till 6.30pm before our L2 class begins.

🌈 No partner or experience necessary. Everyone rotates with everyone else.
Any gender can choose any role. Though for complete beginner dancers please stick to one role throughout the month.

👟👞 Wear comfy, clean clothes, and shoes that have cushioning and support but aren’t very grippy (there are twists and spins in the dance). Note: Lisa always carries dance socks (go over shoes) and duct tape that you can use to temporarily adapt your shoes if you find they’re too grippy on the day.

☕️ We have access to a kitchen so you can fill your water bottles but we also provide free Teas, Coffees, Squash and biscuits to help keep your energy up.

🚗 Parking is free on-street with a few places inside the gates for early birds but venue is also very close to bus routes from city centre or you can cycle or scoot and keep your equipment safe inside the hall.

🎟️ Our per person standard pay on door class rate is going up just a little bit in 2025 to £8 per person per class. This is so that we can continue to grow and build our community, offer discounts that will support our goals and those that are less able to afford classes, and ensure we pay our teachers what they’re worth. Cash or card welcome.

🎉 SPECIAL NEW YEAR OFFER: Pre-pay the whole month (4 classes) on week one of the block for just £20 paid in first week. That’s a 37.5% discount!! And makes classes just £5 per person per class.
