Just a quick reminder that there are no classes this weekend on Sunday or Monday.
Given that we’re a weekend class we always take a break on bank holiday weekends but endeavour to be open the rest of the year, with just a few exceptions.
I look forward to seeing you all again on Sunday 27 April for Lindy Hop classes and Monday 28 April for Solo Jazz Roots and until then, take care and have a great weekend.

Hi everyone
Just to remind you all that our Monday night Solo Jazz Roots class is taking a 2 week break over Easter. There will be no class this Mon 14 April or the following bank holiday Monday 21 April. Classes start back on Monday 28 April 2014 and I look forward to seeing you all then 🙂
Note: Lindy hop classes are still running today (Sunday 13 April) as usual. We will have just the one week break on the bank holiday weekend for these classes.

Continuing the “get ready for ‘I Charleston Nottingham’ “theme we’ll be covering lots of easy, fun, charleston and solo jazz moves tonight to get you all jazzed up to strut your stuff during the filming this coming weekend.
Therefore it’s going to be a great night for all local dancers whether you attend the class regularly or not to come and have some fun and get prepped and warmed up for the weekend.
As always the class is open to all levels, ages and experiences (i.e. beginners very welcome)
Class is at our usual venue, The Old School Hall, Sneinton from 8pm to 9.30 (class underway at 8.15). Cost £4.

As I mentioned at classes last week, next weekend all the swing groups of Nottingham are coming together to film at various locations around the city to put together our own ‘I Charleston Nottingham’ video. It’s going to be amazing!
So this week we’re going to be getting you all Charleston and Jazz happy to strut your fabulous swinging stuff with glee next weekend.

A few of us are heading to Nottm Contemporary Cafe Bar tonight to enjoy the wonderful Me & Mr Jones. Our lovely Jim will be on the decks between the sets too so we’re thinking there’ll be some great tunes to listen and dance to all eve – happy days!

Fab times ahead for Nottingham Lindy Hoppers today. We’re taking a break from classes while I’m away teaching and dancing at DJam Swing Dance Camp up in Durham so nothing happening at our Old School Hall in Sneinton (So no classes today folks, we’re back next Sun 2 Feb)
… However …
It’s time to get social dancing!!
Kate and Becky (2 of our regular Nottingham Lindy Hop dancers) have organised a FREE social dance at the AEDA Arts Academy at the bottom of Hockley (nr Desi Downtown and Bunkers Hill).
There will be great music, a fab space to dance and tea and coffee available at Becky’s Global Cafe (at AEDA) plus you can BYO food and drink if you like – make it a Fuddle and bring things to share 🙂 ).
It’s a wonderful opportunity to hang out, swing out, chat, dance and generally have a ball with your fellow Nottingham Dancers practicing all those new moves from your regular classes. All are welcome!
The only thing to note is that you need to get to AEDA between 7 and 7.30pm as we need to keep the doors locked while we’re using the centre (kind of like a proper old school secret dancing venue 🙂 ) So be there and don’t miss out!
Dancing will go on to at least 10pm maybe longer 😉 oh and did I mention it’s free!!
