A few of us Nottingham Lindy Hop folk are heading to the Nottingham Contemporary Cafe Bar tonight to listen and hopefully get up and dance a little to the delights of Me and Mr Jones (Thanks Jenna!).
As always with these things, the more is definitely the merrier, so if you fancy a night out please feel free to join us there 🙂 Free Entry from 7.30pm though I suspect the band will start later at around 8/8.30pm.

Now, after two and a half years we’ve made a decision to make a slight change to our pricing.
One class will now be £4 (not £3)
Two or three classes in the same session however, will remain at just £5 for now (a complete bargain). Please note this also applies to our Monday night solo jazz class, which will now also be £4 a session (first class back is Monday 7 Jan).
We think this is still excellent value for money and hope this change won’t prevent anyone from attending our classes but please email or talk to me if this causes anyone any difficulties. The last thing I want to do is put barriers in the way of learning this wonderful dance.
Anyway, we’ve got lots of interesting things coming up in 2013 and I’m really looking forward to seeing lots of you back this evening and getting the new year going with a bang.

Yay! Today is Christmas Party Day!
To celebrate Christmas and the end of another great year of classes at Sneinton we’re going to be swinging out in style to some top tunes provided by Jazz Ian, Emily W, Lisa B and John R.
It’s also a Fuddle so everyone is asked to bring a little something to add to the big table to share with everyone else. I’ll be providing Teas, Coffees and soft drinks as usual but you’re welcome to bring your own if you’d like.
Doors open at 5:30pm
Fun taster dance class at 6pm (ish)
Then dance on through till 10pm

It’s Jitterbug night tonight at Spanky Van Dykes in Nottm. A night of classic and Electro Swing, a taster swing dance class and live music from the Electric Swing Circus.
As a warm up, Nottm Uni Swing Society are taking over Red (basement bar in Crowne Plaza, Talbot St) from 7:30 to 9ish and playing some top tunes to get us all swinging out in style before the main event.
They’ve invited all swing dancers in the area to come and join them (whether you’re off to Jitterbug later or not) and so a bunch of us are heading down. It’s a great opportunity to meet and dance with all these new enthusiastic Uni Swing Dancers and the more the merrier.

Our fun Solo Jazz Dance Class is held every Monday from 8pm (excl Bank Hols) at our usual venue, Sneinton Old School Hall, Windmill Lane, Sneinton. New dancers welcome any week. £3 per person.
We’re making a little change to our classes schedule this evening in Sneinton and will only be running the 1st and 2nd classes so that we can close the doors at 8pm and all get away to head off to a fab social dance event…
Tonight (Sunday 14 October 2012) in Radcliffe on Trent, Benny Lee and the Whistle Stop 5 (http://bennylee.co.uk/) will be blowing the roof off The Grange Hall with some top jump jive and swing dance tunes for us all to dance the night away to.
